This module is designed to make students consider technological advances and practical applications in new media. New media content analysis and design is based around semiotics. Related disciplines will lead students into individual investigations of emerging or hypothetical new media technologies.
On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to:
- Make reasoned judgements about the nature of emerging new media technologies.
- Make reasoned estimations of the utilisations of emerging new media technologies.
- Apply appropriate theory to the critical evaluation of new media applications.

About the author
My name is Adam Vincent Morgan and I am studying BSc Web Development at the University of Teesside, UK. During the four year course at Teesside, I have developed a portfolio of both corporate and freelance work, which demonstrates a proven track record of balancing technology and business requirements to deliver outstanding web sites. These range from e-commerce systems to versatile SMS systems. My proficiency in visual design, server-side and database scripting continues to flourish.
I am particularily excited and interested in new media and the future of human interaction with media. I feel this project criteria has allowed me to examine the possibility of an interacting media that may be produced in the future. Even though I am mainly adapt to web technologies, I found the research for this project extremely worthwhile, interesting and an area I will continue to observe with great expectations and enthusiasm.
